Mushrooms grow on a dead tree – a spiritual lesson.

The tree is dead, and mushrooms are growing on it.

Mushrooms cannot grow on a live tree because it would fight them off and not let it happen.

The life force in the tree fights the outside invaders, but when it dies out, invasion happens.

Our soul, our awareness, is our life force.

As long as our awareness is alive, Sansar cannot invade or penetrate our minds.

The irony is that we all have awareness, we all are alive, and we all have life force right now within us, and yet, ask yourself how much Sansar has penetrated our psyche!

That’s because, over many years, this awareness has died out, as it has been neglected, we have become a “dead man walking”.

And that has allowed the Sansar to influence us.

Our likes, dislikes, food and drink choices, choices of objects of pleasure, religions, beliefs, and opinions, which we call ours, are not ours; they are the influences of the sansar.

They are the mushrooms growing on our dead awareness.

If we keep our awareness alive and fully awake 24/7, outside Sansaric mushrooms cannot grow in our minds.

Our awareness is ours, and we need to strengthen it through Dhyan.

With that control, with fully alive awareness, our opinions, thinking, beliefs, etc, will be ours, not theirs.

We will be living our lives.

That will be true freedom.

If your awareness is sharpened and you are in a fully awakened state-

You will not eat unhealthy food despite friends’ pressure

You will not consume unhealthy drinks

You will not get trapped in the racist tones of your friend circle

You will not accept others’ views without evaluating them thoroughly.

Etc.

Keep strengthening your awareness ( life force ) via meditation and keep its flame alive to ward off Sansaric influences ( mushrooms )
