In day to day Sansar –
1. The worst gift is money because the moment you turn around, the use of your gifted money can change, far from your original intention for that money to be used.

Besides, for example, if you have a million dollars and you donate 10,000, it is not a big deal. You are only giving out a tiny fraction of your total.

But…

2. Giving your Time and Presence is better because you are in the middle of the action. That’s where you are, 100%, totally involved.

It’s a wholesome action, higher than donating money.

E.g., spending time with your child for homework or a philanthropic activity without an Ego.

3. Higher than Time and Presence is sacrificing a portion of your mind, altering your mind for someone else.

E.g., a father giving up alcoholism as a sacrifice for his family to become a better role model for his child, etc

Or going vegan, sacrificing your desires, and saving animals from cruelty.

4. Higher than this is a gift of knowledge.

For example, teaching a fishing trade to someone who in turn, can make a living and go and teach fishing to others.

Of course, the highest knowledge is the knowledge of the self.

( Spiritual knowledge is powerful and can change the world, but only if one puts it into practice. )

This is in Sansar.

At the spiritual level, everything changes.

Honesty, Love and compassion, Wisdom, Encouragement, Hope, etc are great answers.

But…

Mind well, you cannot give what you don’t have, and all these you WOULD have once you have KNOWN your true self.

They have no value if any of these are “practiced” or “given” as a gift, without self-knowledge.

On the contrary, practicing them as actions they only inflate your Ego more.

But, we DO have Ego, plenty of it, and it is TRULY OURS.

So, yes, a gift of Ego is the highest gift.

Once the Ego is submitted to Godliness, all other great qualities flow.
They don’t even remain “gift.”

They become natural.

Just as the sun does not give us a “gift” of light and heat and energy.

It just is its nature.
