A friend and an enemy are created within our minds, depending on our direction.

If we want to drown in objects of pleasure, those already saturated in them will appear as friends, and our doctors, spouses, children, and well-wishers will appear as enemies.

When you turn around towards better health and better life, the same old “friends” will appear to be enemies, and the same old “ enemies “ will appear to be your friends.

“Friends” and “ Enemies” are relative terms, not absolute. ( Just like everything else in life ).

They are situational and will change based on your situation and mindset.

Realizing this can lead one to seek the Absolute.

The ABSOLUTE is the ADVAIT (non-dual), above the duality-filled mind, and includes all the dualities but remains Non-Dual.

Friends may turn out to be enemies, and enemies may turn out to be friends, depending on our situation, true.

But..

That does not mean we should start hating friends and start loving enemies.

Then we still are stuck on the duality again.

No, we need a non-dual mind, no emotions, no opinions, and no choosing sides.

This way, we dissolve our dualistic mind and rise higher, and SEE the crystal clear consciousness in both – friends or enemies, enemies or friends, it doesn’t matter.

Then only our Pragnyachakshu ( third eye ) opens up to SEE the world with a totally different eye – the eye of clarity.
