The only “real ” thing is the consciousness; everything else ( the world ) is not, as Rishis say.
Despite that, the world looks so real to us.
Why?
When we see the world, we do not see it only with the help of our physical body or mind; we also utilize the consciousness within us.
( An unconscious person won’t have such experience ).
Whether we know our soul or not or are aware of our consciousness, consciousness keeps doing its job—imparting the touch of reality to everything we perceive.
The REAL appearance is a gift of the consciousness.
Even a fake dollar has to borrow the appearance of the actual dollar to look real to people; otherwise, how can it fool them?
The same thing has happened with the world.
It is not real, but consciousness makes it appear real, and we get fooled.
The moment we perceive something, we utilize our consciousness.
The ultimate perceiver is consciousness, not the body or the mind, but we don’t know that, and that makes the whole world appear real to us.
The mind foolishly takes all the credit because it does not know consciousness; it is incapable of knowing.
We are so mesmerized by the world’s realistic appearance that we continue to pursue it under that illusion, never seeing any need to find the truth.
Just as we believe 100% in a dream when we watch it, we also believe 100% in the reality of the world.
Consciousness is real because it is eternal, and the world is not, as it is not.
We already have a real dollar but don’t care; we are too busy running after a fake dollar called Sansar.
Meditation helps you realize the existence of consciousness separate from the body and mind.
That’s why consciousness remains in deeper states of meditation, and Sansar doesn’t.
Meditate and find this treasure, which brings contentment and eliminates the need to run after the illusory world.
