More profound steps of Meditation.

More profound steps of Meditation.

Meditation is not as simple as it sounds – “Just be an observer.”

Establishing the observership may take time, but that is only the first step.

From that point onward, your inner journey starts ( can start if you follow further steps ).

The following two steps are incredibly vital for a successful meditation.

1. Parmita – after establishing a firm recognizable presence of the observer ( awareness ), one needs to “turn” it backward onto itself. Instead of studying your thoughts ( the observed ), you must turn your awareness towards the observer and let the observer research itself.

And this is walking away ( Parmita ).

Parmita will take you deeper into the meditation because there is no Sansaric interference as you walk away.

The next important step is –

2. Sallinta ( opposite of Tallinta – a state where you get engrossed in an external event, e.g., a musical concert). But this time, you will be fully engrossed in the soul itself. ( That’s why the name Sallinta – Tallinta in the Soul – interestingly, Buddha and Mahavir used the same word for this step ).

This will enhance your meditation, and that’s when the “Life-giving Life” starts surfacing from within, along with many other experiences, one of which points further in the direction of Samadhi State.

You will only fully realize Sansar’s crookedness, unpredictability, and constant running once you experience the simplicity and elegance of Samadhi state.

The reason is that in Sansar, you are always guided by some goal ( which blinds you ); if one fails, another one, then another, always thinking that “I will succeed in the next goal” ( and it never happens ).

So, sit down, meditate, connect with your depth, and all your futile runnings will stop.

Sallinta will give you peace ( shanti ), but only Samadhi will provide contentment ( Sukh ).

Only in the fire of contentment burns out all desires.
