Pain and pleasure are two sides of the same coin.
The same objects, people, or situations from where you were seeking pleasure become the source of pain also for you.
Ones from whom you never sought pleasure, will never give you pain either.
When your dog dies, hell breaks loose, but when a neighbor’s dog dies, it’s just another event for you.
Expecting pleasure from the world is our first mistake.
Reveling and getting lost in that pleasure is our second mistake.
And suffering when the source of pleasure dries out, is our third mistake.
Our life is full of such mistakes.
When one source of pleasure dries out, we seek another source, and the cycle keeps repeating.
Life full of such repetitive mistakes is a life lived in slumber ( tandra ).
Not seeking pleasure from the Sansar and not committing our first mistake is enlightenment.
For that, you need to connect with the shunya state within, and cherish it, because that’s one source of pleasure that never dries out.
