We are a movie screen.

We are a movie screen.

Our whole life is like a movie ( in which we are included. )

We all play our roles and disappear, and new characters come, and they also disappear.

All this is happening on the screen of consciousness within us.

But we remain mesmerized by the movie.

But-

Only a deep meditation, where awareness condenses, can generate a distance between the screen ( consciousness ) and the movie of life.

That’s where you find the shunya state, a state of perpetual bliss, not affected by the ups and downs of the movie Sansar.

That’s the Sthitpragnya state of Krishna, moksha of Mahavir, Nirvana of Buddha, and the kingdom of heaven of Jesus.

So, ready there, one has to be able to negate one’s whole life as only outside impressions ( Sanskaras – as per Shankaracharya ).

Then what is left is – the screen of consciousness.

All movies, as we all know, are made of a series of multiple scenes.

When they are run at speed, they look like a continuous phenomenon, but it is not.

Similarly, Sansar is captured in our mind as a continuous motion, but it is a series of zillions of individual moments of experiences.

All these experiences are connected by one continuous, unbroken entity – the undivided consciousness.

So, consciousness is the immortal screen (non-dual), and Sansar is ever moving movie made of transient experiences ( duality ).

So, realizing that we are the screen ( consciousness ) and not one of the movie’s characters ( Sansar ) changes our life.

  1. As a character, we must face friction with other characters – for example – the fight between Raam and Raavan.

But as a screen, we do not care who wins the fight – Raam or Raavan.

This brings peace in life.

2. The characters fight to gain something, but the screen has nothing to win or lose, so it stays in peace. Sthitpragnya state.

3. Movie, sooner or later, comes to an end, but the screen remains there forever.

As a screen ( as a consciousness ), you are immortal.

4. Movie ( Sansr ) needs the screen ( Consciousness ) to display, but the screen can exist independently.

That means the screen ( the consciousness ) is where lies the ultimate freedom.

That means movie characters ( us ) die, but the consciousness lives forever, so it is immortal.

So, how do we rise from the life of Ego ( characters ) to the life of consciousness?

MEDITATION.

Meditation is that powerful tool, where just by being a witness, we start withdrawing from what we think we are ( Ego ) to who we really are – ( the consciousness ).
